DESIGN QUESTIONS:

Q: What is the difference between a Landscape Architect and a Landscape Designer?

A: A Landscape Architect has earned a professional license after working through a four-year undergraduate education, followed by the passing of a three-day national examination.

Q: Why choose a Landscape Architect over a Landscape Designer?

A: Because of the Landscape Architect’s background and professional license, you can have more confidence in the quality of the the design.

Q: Why do you charge a design fee?

A: Because it is a professional service that you can rely on without reservation, just as you would expect to pay for any service provided by a doctor, a lawyer or an accountant.

Q: What is included in the design?

A: There is an initial meeting where your needs and expectations for your landscape are considered along with what best fits your property and location. Next, an accurate site plan is created along with preliminary design concepts.  Then, a second meeting is scheduled where you and the Landscape Architect will review the concept and agree on the best direction.   It is our intention to work with you until you are completely satisfied.  Lastly, the final plan will be drawn and presented along with a proposal of construction costs.  At that point, you may schedule the project for construction.

Q: What is a typical design fee?

A: Design fees are based on size of property and complexity of design required. Please call for further information.

Q: Does every job require a design fee?

A: No.  Some jobs can be handled with a simple sketch.
